The Alma Schools Students of the Month program to highlight several of our great students is ready to announce the Decembers students.  Mrs. Rieck, Elementary School Counselor, has divided our student body into four groups by age. (B4-Grade 2, Grades 3- 6, Grades 7-9, and Grades 10-12) Each month, four students will be chosen by a random generator to be highlighted as one of our Students of the Month. Students will be highlighted on our Alma Area  Facebook page, and the Alma Schools website page.  We are excited to introduce the December Students of the Month!

B4- 2

Tessa Sedlmayr (Gr.1)

Tessa is very excited to let people know that she LOVES school.  She is very creative and loves Art class.  Her favorite colors are blue, white, purple and pink.  Her family is very important to her.  She loves to go to Durand and Monroe to see her cousins with her mom and dad, Jeff and Alex.  Tessa is also very lucky because she lives close to her grandmas and grandpas.  She likes swimming in Grandma Bobbi’s pool when it is warm and making cinnamon cookies with Grandma too.  Her dogs, Millie and Zoe are also special to her, and she did finally acknowledge that she does have one brother, Theo that she wrestles with.  She is also excited for Christmas and hopes she gets a pet fish.  The other thing Tessa really wants is to be able to go to movie theatres again.  Her family has not been able to go to a theatre for two years, due to COVID.

Grades 3-6

Lelina Guzman (Gr. 4)

Lelina is always happy.  Sometimes she likes to be alone and have her own space.  She likes to play on various apps like: Roblux, Tik Tok, Magic Tiles 3, and Piano Fire.   She likes to watch dance videos on Tik Tok, and she loves to dance.  She thinks that she would rather be on the basketball, football, and wrestling teams than in dance when she is older.  Lelina loves cats.  Her mom’s name is Carissa, and at her house, they currently have four cats.  All of the cats' names are named after characters from the Lion King movie - Scar, Kovu, Zira, and Nala.  Her sister, Mya, also had a cat named Simba that recently passed away. She has another sister, DJ as well.  Her mom makes the best Chicken Alfredo, and her dad, Joe, who lives in Pepin makes the best nachos.  Lelina listed every class that she has as her favorite, but she especially likes to practice spelling words by playing Sparkle with the entire class.  For Christmas, Lelina hopes to get a lot of unicorns and makeup.

Grades 7-9

Braiden Graner (Gr. 8)

Braiden is the biggest Packer fan at Alma High School.  He watches every game, has a Packer bedroom, wears Packer attire daily and has even named one of his cats, Jordy, after Jordy Nelson.  The WI Badgers are his second favorite team; thus, his other cat is named Bucky.  He likes to watch the two cats play together.  This year his mom and dad, Stephanie and Pete, took him to the Packers Family Night which was really fun, except that it was a bit rainy so there were no fireworks.  Braiden would really like to go again next year.  His favorite subject is Math, and he plays percussion in the band.  He is very interested in weather, and he likes weather that is warm and sunny (between 70-80 degrees). Someday, you may see him on the news as a weather reporter.  The best quality of Braiden is that he is the kindest young man, and one teacher said, “Everybody loves Braiden”.

Grades 10-12

Evan Creighton (Gr. 12)

Evan’s family moved to Alma in 7th Grade. His family includes his mom, dad and his sister, Tori.  They moved to Alma because his Aunt and Uncle operate the Alma Marina, and they are very close to them. His dad, Chris, works at the Marina and coaches the boys basketball team for AHS.  His mom, Brenda, recently accepted a position at Gunderson Health.  Basketball is his favorite sport, but he also enjoys playing baseball, football, and running track and field.  He is glad that his family moved to Alma because he has a lot of friends, likes to go golfing and has bonfires with them.  Next year, Evan will be attending Winona State University majoring in Pre-Athletic Training.
