Ready, Set, GO!!!

Amanda Fraley-GleiterDear Students and Guardians,

This year has been a positive and memorable year so far! I am very excited to be back with all of you; as I have missed you. I am eager to learn with you and can’t wait to be impressed with how much you have grown since the beginning of the school year. As your teacher I promise to do my best, to listen, and to help you develop both academically and socially. If there is ANYTHING I can do to help you this year please do not be afraid to ask. If there is ANYTHING you are excited to explore or learn about this year, please just ask.

A Little about Myself…..

I was born in Ohio, therefore I will always be a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan. My parents moved down to Florida when I was 2-years old. I enjoyed learning how to surf, fish, golf, and play soccer while growing up in the HOT Florida sunshine. I graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School with high honors in 2003. I then went to the University of Central Florida and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Photographic Technology and a Minor in Vocational Education and Industry Training in 2007. In the Fall of 2007 I left my hometown in Florida and moved to Milwaukee, WI. While in Milwaukee I received an International Teaching Diploma (American Montessori Internationale) in 2008 and began my teaching career in the Fall of 2008. I taught first, second, and third grade for two years at Kosciuszko Montessori in Milwaukee, WI. I then moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the summer of 2010 and achieved my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach fourth, fifth, and sixth graders for 4 years (2010-2014) at River Falls Public Montessori Academy when I moved to Alma, WI in the Fall of 2010.

I left River Falls in 2014, and was given the “golden opportunity” to teach here at Alma Elementary for the 2014-2015; as I was hired as our SAGE/AGR teacher. I then moved from Kindergarten (teaching with Mrs. Oie) and had fun in First Grade with Mrs. Steinke. I was then blessed with teaching Third Grade and continue to teach our wonderful third graders. During the summer of 2017 I graduated with a 4.0 GPA with my Principal License from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. This will be my eleventh year teaching elementary students and I am truly grateful to be with all of you.

Outlook on the School Year

During the school year we will have many classes: Reading, Grammar and Syntax, Penmanship, Wordly Wise (Vocabulary), Math, Science, Social Studies, and Character Development. My expectations are simple: do your best! Each and every one of you have a special gift, and something special that is so unique and different from anyone else. Let’s focus on our gifts this year and share with one another our gifts and the beauty of learning.
