On Tuesday, November 28th, the Lady Eagles of Alma-Pepin faced the Independence-Gilmanton Indees for their first basketball conference matchup. For the majority of the first half, both the Eagles and Indees battled back and forth. Both teams started the first half strong with some full-court pressure. The Eagles started the half in a zone defense while Independence played man-to-man but quickly switched to a zone to combat the Lady Eagles. The Eagles ran into some foul trouble in the first half; Junior Allidah Luff had three fouls, which helped the Indees pull away at the half, leading 33-24.

Returning after halftime, the Eagles were quick to come back. Eagles’ senior,  Cora Kosimar assisted the team by completing three three-pointers in a row, bringing the Eagles within eight. With seven minutes left in the game, the Eagles converted to a man-to-man defense. Towards the end of the game, Independence-Gilmanton sent the Eagles home with a loss, defeating the Eagles 55-42.
