The Eagles took on the Lincoln Hornets at Alma-Center Friday night. Alma-Pepin came into the game with a 11-11 record while Lincoln arrived at the game with a 18-3 record. Even though the Hornets beat the Eagles once before in a tight battle, the Eagles managed to come out on top in this game with a score of 47-45.

The Eagles started out hot with a 7-0 score early. However, after a few Jace Paul three’s, the Hornets closed the gap. The Eagles answered back with a tight defense. Right before halftime, the Eagles pulled away with the lead feeling pretty confident in the game. As both left the gym at half, the score was 26-18. 

In the second half, the Eagles had a dry spell where they could not make a shot; whereas the Hornets came in hot, making multiple shots. Jace Paul, being the Hornets leading scorer with 15 points, was on fire making five out of six of his free throws. Evan Olson helped keep the lead late in the second half with 17 points. With eight seconds in the game, Jace Paul made a three point shot to close the deficit by making the score 47-45 Eagles. Alma-Center Lincoln had a chance for a buzzer beater shot with 1.5 seconds left in the game. However, the shot came up short, resulting in the Eagles winning 47-45.
