The Lady Eagles showing their W’s after winning 20-1 against Alma Center.

This last week, April 8th to the 13th, The Eagles Fastpitch Softball played three tough conference opponents.

On Monday, the Eagles played the C-FC Pirates. The Eagles took a tough loss on the Pirates' home field, as the final score was 4-5. In the first inning, the Alma-Pepin girls scored two runs right off the bat, but the C-FC Pirates fought back. C-FC scored one run in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. The Eagles scored two runs in the final inning of the game, but not enough to catch up to the C-FC Pirates. This was a close match up between Eagles and Pirates.

On Tuesday, the Eagles played Eau Claire-Immanuel Lancers. The Lancers have been a competitive team in previous years, but that didn't stop the Eagles from taking an important win. In the first inning, the Eagles immediately scored four runs. Ashley Bartelt, a senior at Alma, hit an out-of-the-park home run, batting in three batters: Leah Green, Cora Comisar, and herself. The Lancers were not able to score any runs against the Eagles during this vital match up against a well-known opponent.

Finally, on Friday the girls played Alma Center-Lincoln Hornets in Lincoln. The Eagles were able to take the win in three innings. The Eagles scored 20 runs in three innings compared to Lincoln's one run. Kennedy Carlson, a sophomore from Pepin, hit a grand slam in the 3rd inning of the game. This grand slam ended the game for the Eagles due to the Dairyland Conference 15 run rule giving Alma-Pepin the win.
