On Monday, September 9th, the Alma St. John Luthern Church hosted a local blood drive. The Red Cross comes to Alma four times a year to run the blood drive. This is quite an event for Alma. One blood drive alone collects around 52 units of blood, surpassing the goal of 42. This is an amazing opportunity for Alma students to join their community members and help those in need.
Alma had many students volunteer to give blood. Mrs. Kosik, the Alma High School principal, was kind enough to shuttle students back and forth from St. John and the school. Donating blood is fully voluntary and shows the great character young students have.
