Wacky Wednesday in 1st Grade had us building marble runs with supplies from our Maker Space! The kids were quite creative with their supplies!

This week the first grade studied buildings and what they are made of in different parts of the world. We also compared city buildings to country buildings. The students created buildings from paper and then designed other things using our Maker Space materials. They developed the area with roads, trees, playgrounds, and even a bank with a specially designed security camera. Here are the first graders with their finished product!

If at first you don’t succeed, try again. The fourth graders have been studying about the design process. The students were asked to design a rope out of toilet paper. Their first ropes were not so successful. They had a chance to try again. Some students designed toilet paper ropes that held more than 600 pennies. Yes… 600 pennies. In doing this, the students had fun learning the importance of failure analysis.

Rivermen Clubhouse kids helped trace themselves to help out the third grade teacher for a project for Friday. They enjoyed themselves. Plus the kids made poppies and more decorations for the lunch room for Veteran’s Day.
