Rivermen Clubhouse kids had a good time watching the snow fall and making fun birds for our clubhouse door.

School Closure Message: With 6-8 inches of snow predicted this evening during round one, and 12-18 additional inches of new snow starting tomorrow in round two, we have made the decision that Alma Area Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22nd & Thursday, February 23rd. Tomorrow will be an E-Learning Day and our staff have prepared students. Students will not have E-Learning on Thursday, but are expected to assist their family and neighbors in the cleanup efforts that will be needed after this historic snow storm. I would ask that we all look out for our senior citizens and disabled community members. Please offer a helping hand to those who need assistance with this amount of snow. Additionally, the building will be closed and all student activities are canceled through Friday morning. Please stay safe and limit travel for emergencies only over the next couple of days to give our state, county, and township road crews the opportunity to clean up the roadways without obstruction. Thank you again to our road crews for their efforts and long hours over the next couple of days!

Today some 2nd graders shared their Louisiana tradition with us. They told us about how and why they celebrate Mardi Gras. It was interesting to learn all about this holiday. A big thank you to their dad, Donald Bates, for bringing an authentic Kings Cake from New Orleans. It was a tasty treat, and someone was lucky to find the baby. If you have the piece with the baby you are said to have good luck.

After School Activities Update for Tues. Feb. 21: Boys and Girls High School Basketball Teams will be allowed to have practice until 5:25 p.m. tonight. 6th Grade Girls Basketball game is CANCELED for tonight. High School Forensics will be submitting their performances via video and not traveling to Holman this evening. Congratulations to our Lady Eagles on their first round Regional Basketball win last night!!!

Deadline for ordering shirts has been extended to Friday with the closing of school Wednesday and Thursday. Those that turned orders in on Monday and Tuesday. Those shirts are scheduled to be in on Tuesday 2/28. T-shirt forms that are receive on Friday will not be done until the week of March 6th. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE EAGLES BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM 2022-23 SMALL DAIRYLAND CONFERENCE CHAMPS! Pictured below is an order form if you would like to order a conference championship t shirt. The orders are due end of day Wednesday. Please turn them in at your school office. Checks are made payable to Alma Area Schools.

Alma 2nd and 3rd graders traveled to the Mabel Tainter Theater in Menomonie today. We attended the play Dragons Love Tacos put on by the Eau Claire Childrens Theater. We really enjoyed the performance. A big THANK YOU to the Alma PIE group for sponsoring this wonderful opportunity!

The High School Art Class made edible art today using Oreos. Using a toothpick, they manipulated the filling to create relief sculptures.
