The Alma-Pepin Golf Team is STATE BOUND! They were sectionals champs today, and will be escorted into the town of Alma by the fire truck and ambulance. Come out and cheer them on as they drive through Alma between 7:45-8:00 PM.
Today in Music and Sounds class with Mrs. Ottum & Eden, students learned about woodwind instruments and what makes them part of the woodwind family. They explored a variety of instruments, including the clarinet, flute, saxophone, piccolo, and the traditional Japanese shakuhachi flute, while learning how air creates sound and different pitches.
As part of the learning experience, students created their own woodwind instruments. They had a blast experimenting with their creations and discovering how different amounts of airflow and changes in size affect the sound. It was a fun, hands-on activity filled with creativity and music-making! 🎶🎵😎

Who: Anyone who graduated from, or married someone, is a child of, or had a child, who attended Alma or Pepin High Schools.
Teams: You make your own team of 3 or 4 players, male, female or mixed.
Format: The front 9 you will play, Best 2 Balls. This means the 2 best scores on your team on a hole will count. For this, having more people in your group will be to your advantage.
The back 9 you will play a Team Scramble. Here you must take one drive from everyone in your group. Here, the advantage might go to the teams with fewer players.
Awards: These will be given to the team with the lowest score for the total 18 holes, low score on the 2 best balls (front 9) and low score in the scramble (back 9). A team can only win in one of the three areas. To break a tie, we will go to the handicap holes.
When: Saturday, June 20, 2026. Registration starting at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
Where: The Grove in Cochrane, Wisconsin
Cost: Cost is $65 per person. This includes 18-holes and ½ a cart, entry fees for on course games and door prizes. Cash preferred for the entry fee, due day of the tournament.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle to support the Alma-Pepin Golf Team along with door-prizes from the local businesses.

Congratulations to Nessa Noll on breaking the school record last night at Whitehall. She had a throw of 36'1". Brilyn Brecka had the previous record of 35'11".25.
To finish off our year of Alma Pride, each classroom teacher in the elementary was asked to nominate students in their class that exemplified Alma Pride this year. SOAR awards were presented to twenty one students this morning!
Students in elementary through 6th grade raised money as part of their annual Read-a-Thon. Students in 4th-6th grade pledged to read more in the month of May and were able to attend an overnight at school where reading and fun abound! Today, we were able to present a donation to Western Buffalo County Ambulance Service and Scenic Valley Emergency Medical Service from the donations received throughout the month of May. Congrats to Ray, Jayce, Josie, and Ensley for being some of our top fundraisers! Thank you everyone who helped make this experience fun and meaningful for our students.
Day 1 of the Sixth Grades Annual Field Trip was a success! Students explored the Bluff Prairie Restoration with Todd Mau, learned GPS skills, identified prairie grasses and trees on a hike overlooking Nelson, and visited several restoration projects throughout the day. The day wrapped up with a stop at Garden Gate to learn more about local greenhouse operations.
Day 2 of the Sixth Grade Field Trip was filled with outdoor learning and conservation activities! Students visited the Noll's Goat Prairie with Todd Mau to study land management and restoration, enjoyed lunch at Buena Vista, and hiked the Buena Vista Trail. The afternoon focused on invasive species removal and identification at the Rod and Gun Club, where students learned about garlic mustard's impact on native ecosystems.
The final day of the Sixth Grade Field Trip gave students a closer look at local water systems and wildlife. At Rieck’s Park, students participated in fish shocking with Brian Brecka, toured Lock and Dam #4, and spent the afternoon conducting water sampling activities. It was a great way to end three educational and engaging days of outdoor experiences!
Congratulations to our most recent B4 graduates! This class may be small, but it is full of big hearts and growing minds. We are so excited to watch them soar in Kindergarten.
The Alma-Pepin Eagles Junior High Golf team stayed busy over the last few weeks with meets at The Grove, Ettrick Golf Course, and Durand Golf Course. On May 11th at The Grove in Cochrane, the team, which consisted of Landon Elliott, Jack Loewenhagen, Victoria Austin, Conrad Catt, and Jackson Morth, placed 6th overall. Victoria Austin tied for 12th with a 46, while Conrad Catt placed 16th with a 49.
On May 14th at Ettrick Golf Course, Jemma Fernholz, Logan Moskwa, Harper Tulip, Noah Patrow, and Liam Kosik also earned 6th-place as a team finish. Liam Kosik tied for 14th with a 47, while Harper Tulip tied for 18th with a 49.
The final junior high meet of the season took place on May 18th at Durand Golf Course with golfers Will Schruth, Emmett Seifert, Jameson Sterry, Liam Kosik, and Izaak Mann. Izaak Mann shot a 47, and Jameson Sterry added a 49 to wrap up their great season.

As the school year winds down, the Riverland Ambassadors group held its last meeting. The group, consisting of Macy Stewart, Alyssa Johnson, Wil Jumbeck, Anders Johansen, Bella Brouillard, Nessa Noll, and other students from surrounding schools, learned about all things related to energy. Their favorite was getting the opportunity to tour the John P. Madgett power plant, located in Alma, Wisconsin. Thank you to Riverland for providing our students with this amazing opportunity to grow their knowledge!
