Marcella Degroot is a fourth-grade student from Alma. She enjoys learning about writing and loves expressing her creativity. Her favorite color is pink, and she especially looks forward to “breakfast for lunch” at school. Marcella likes playing basketball and spending recess playing four-square with her friends. Outside of school, she enjoys relaxing at home with her family, including her parents, Nicole and Skylar, her sibling Ceila, and their two dogs, Murphy and Ruby. When she grows up, Marcella hopes to become a fashion designer. Congratulations, Marcella, keep up the great work!

Eleventh grader, Alivia Elliott, is this week’s Alma High School Student of the Week. She is the daughter of Cody Elliott and Rebecca Schneider, as well as the older sister of Landon Elliott. During school, Alivia awaits her last class period, yearbook. She enjoys this class for the fun environment and the ability to edit things to look pretty. After school hours, Alivia plays volleyball and is on the dance team. In her free time, Alivia enjoys shopping, eating at Qdoba, and spending time with her friends. She also has a chihuahua named Buddy. Congratulations, Alivia, on being this week’s Alma High School Student of the Week!

Good morning. With the freezing rain continuing to fall this morning and temperatures hovering around freezing, we have made the decision to close school today and utilize an E-Learning Day. Again, the Alma School District will be closed today, Thursday, April 2nd. Today will be an E-Learning Day for all students and staff. We will evaluate after school activities later this morning. With no school scheduled for tomorrow and Monday, we would like to wish everyone a wonderful extended weekend !

The Alma & Pepin band and choir students had an excellent solo and ensemble experience this year. Participation is completely voluntary and requires a lot of hard work and discipline. We are very proud of you all!

This week's senior spotlights are Trenton Krzoska and Christian Langhorst!

This week’s Student of the Week is third grader, Kellin Keenan. Kellin enjoys spending time with her friends, playing four square, and swimming. When she wants to watch a movie, she likes to watch Moana with her brother, Kolson. If she could eat one thing for the rest of her life, Kellin would choose pizza. Because she loves using her imagination, Kellin’s favorite class is Art. In her opinion, the best part of third grade so far has been reading because it teaches her many new things she may not have known. Congratulations, Kellin, on being this week's Student of the Week!

Seventh grader, Zachary Keeler, is this week’s Alma Middle School Student of the Week. He enjoys eating pizza, no matter what kind, and spending his free time playing video games. Fortnite and Minecraft are Zachary’s favorites. In the future, he would like to create a video game, combining his passion for video games with creativity. At school, Zachary enjoys his Area Studies class taught by Mr. Engstrand. Congratulations, Zachary, on being this week’s Alma Middle School Student of the Week!

Congratulations to this week's Alma Elementary Alma Pride Winners!

The Alma National Honor Society Members are very grateful for the check of $350 from the Alliance Bank. This money will be used to help fund the Go Green Campaign Project, which these members are currently planning.

Mrs. Rolbiecki’s Nature Club, lead by Jayce Ganz, Clara Schmit, and Kloe Wald, spent Friday afternoon planting their beans. Last week they planted them in ziplock baggies and put them in the window. Today, they planted them in soil and plan to make observations as they grow each week.

Today, Alma’s National Honor Society members traveled to Eagan, Minnesota, where they dedicated their time and energy to volunteering at Feed My Starving Children. Working together with determination and compassion, the group packed an impressive 161 boxes, providing a total of 34,776 meals for those in need around the world; specifically, their meals were being transported to Haiti. Their hard work and commitment to making a difference truly paid off, although the effort left a few members feeling the physical toll of their long and rewarding day.
