Santa hats, holiday colors, and tons of cheer—Holiday Spirit Week is bringing the fun to the elementary school!

BBB Game Time UPDATE: With the potential ice and freezing rain later this evening, we will be moving up the start times for the Boys Basketball games in Augusta. Junior Varsity Boys will now start at 4:30 PM, with the Varsity following the completion of that game around 6:00 or 6:15 PM. The C-Team Boys game will be played at 5 PM. Congratulations to this week’s High School Student of the Week, Elizabeth Elsenpeter. Elizabeth is the daughter of Sara and Dan and has one sibling, her sister Emma. Her favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs. She enjoys Spanish class because it is simple, and she likes learning another language. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Burrow, who she appreciates for being kind. If Elizabeth could have any superpower, she would choose invisibility, so she could get away with things. In the future, she hopes to become a doctor, so she can help others. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys playing sports. Keep up the great work!

This week’s Alma Elementary Student of the Week is fourth grader, Joshephine Haddad. Her favorite teacher is her home room teacher, Mrs. Rolbecki, because of her kindness. Josephine enjoys her Phy Ed. class where she gets to play fun games, her favorite being Santa’s Workshop. In her free time, Josephine enjoys playing with her cat, Tiger Stripes, calling her cousins, and watching movies. When she is older, Josephine aspires to be an actor or singer. If Josephine could have any superpower, she would choose teleportation so she could travel to Hawaii. Congrats, Josephine, on being this week’s Alma Elementary Student of the Week!

The boys' basketball team had a tough loss against Mondovi Monday night.

On Monday, the Lady Eagles defeated the Mustangs in a thrilling game, winning by two!

Congratulations to the boys basketball team on an outstanding finish against Eleva-Strum last Friday. The boys and girls are back in action tonight!

Richard Dierauer, known by most as Richie, is a cheerful 5th grader at Alma who brings a lot of energy to the classroom. At home, he enjoys spending time with his younger brother, Henry. Richie is counting down the days until Christmas. He loves getting together with his cousins, opening presents, and enjoying his mom’s famous frosted sugar cookies, his absolute favorite treat. At school, Richie’s favorite subject is social studies because he enjoys learning about different places, people, and events. He looks up to Mrs. Johnson, who inspires him to work hard and stay positive. If Richie could add anything to the school, he’d choose a gaming class, which he thinks would make learning “way more fun.” Congratulations, Richie, and keep up the good work!

This week’s Student of the Week is Eden Ottum, a multi-talented student who enjoys spending her time outside of school crocheting, dancing, drawing, and singing. In school, she looks forward to Tech-Ed, Reading, and Choir, and her favorite school meal is pizza dippers. If Eden could instantly excel at any school skill, she would choose math, since she admits it isn’t her strongest subject. She also shared that if she could bring any celebrity to school for a day, she’d invite Justin Bieber so he could put on a concert for everyone. Eden is especially proud of her progress in volleyball this year; she’s improved from being unable to overhand serve to earning lots of kills on the court. Her dream vacation destination is the Florida Keys, and a fun fact about her is that in Kindergarten, she had a front tooth pulled because, as she says, she loved sugar a little too much. If she could create a new school club, Eden would start a crochet club, combining one of her favorite hobbies with a chance to share it with others. If she could have any superpower for a day, she’d choose invisibility so she wouldn’t feel awkward around people. Finally, when it comes to teachers, Eden says she can’t pick just one; her favorites are Mr. Hoolihan, Mr. Reed, and Mrs. Burrow.

Mrs Draxler-Ruff and Alma Band Alumni, Caryn Becker (Falch) participated in the 2025 TubaChristmas in Menomonie on Sunday, December 14. Over 70 musicians from all over the area performed your favorite Holiday favorites on tuba, sousaphone, euphonium, and baritone.
