Today, students in Grades 1-3 had a special presentation on electrical safety from Riverland Energy. A big thank you to Scott, Todd, and Royce for teaching us how to be safe around power lines.

Today, May 8th, the Alma High School helped clean up the Alma community with the annual community clean up. The students assisted with the cleanup of the beach, cemeteries, flowerbeds, and the park. Thank you to all who helped and provided us with the tools, food, and treats afterward.

We’re celebrating Teacher (Staff) Appreciation Week in the Alma School District! 🎉 We wish to express our gratitude for the incredible people who have dedicated their lives to preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the future. In these final weeks of the school year, we invite families, students, and communities to take some time to reflect on everything our teachers and support staff have done and continue to do to support our students. Join us in thanking our teachers for all they do!

On Wednesday, May 1st, Judie Sage brought in her spinning wheel and sheep's wool and demonstrated what happens after the sheep are shorn. The first grade class had been to her farm for the spring field trip. Thank you Judie!

Chloe Reed is our student of the week. Chloe is the daughter of Joshua and Sharaya Reed. Chloe is a star saxophone player in the school’s band. When she is not at school she enjoys skiing and tubing, obviously when the weather permits. Chloe also is a part of the Alma trap team with her brother Jackson. After she graduates, Chloe plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for pre-med. We wish the best of luck for Chloe as she finishes high school, and moves on to the next chapter.

"Fun Friday" has always been a student favorite in third grade! It's a great way to have some fun after working hard all week and review previously learned skills. All year long the third graders have loved talking about donuts. This week, they got to enjoy taking orders from students around the school, practicing dividing their orders into fractions, and put their creative writing skills to the test by designing their own donut shop. And yes, they also got to enjoy a donut (or two) thanks to an additional birthday treat!
