Nurse Katie continues to make the rounds discussing the importance of good handwashing! Today 4th grade got to practice proper handwashing with glow germs! Under and around fingernails seemed to be a common spot for “germs” to hide

The Alma 5th graders went to the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN to enjoy a fantastic viewing of “A Christmas Carol!” All students and chaperones had an amazing time during the trip! Sadly, the Endless Bridge was closed today, so we could not get a class picture outside. However, Ms. DeMore still wanted a nice class picture by the bridge! A huge and special thanks to the Guthrie Theater for hosting this wonderful event, and to Mr. Tom Brakke for driving us there and back!

“Nurse Katie worked with kindergarten today on proper handwashing techniques. The kids learned about germs and why we want to avoid them. We then practiced good handwashing with fake germs (cinnamon and oil)”

This week we travel to the senior class. Henry Keeler has shown excellence within the classroom and has been chosen as this week's student of the week. Henry enjoys the teachers at Alma, but he said his favorite is Ms. Butterfield because she is very helpful with his homework. Speaking of homework, Henry dislikes homework given out throughout the day. When Henry isn’t busy with his schoolwork, he is working at Subway or playing Minecraft at his house. Henry has two siblings, Zachary and Jade. His parents are Adam and Whitely Keeler. Henry plans to enlist in the Army after he graduates in May.

Lady Eagles First Basketball Game of the Season On Thursday, November 16, the Lady Eagles basketball team traveled to Mondovi to face the Lady Buffalos. The Buffalos came out strong in the first half. They set up a zone press after every made basket, causing the Eagles to crack under pressure. Alma-Pepin was finding open shots, but could not finish. At the end of the first half, the Eagles were trailing behind, 37-7. The Eagles knew that they had a lot of work ahead of them if they wanted to make a comeback. Instead of staying in the 2-3 zone matchup that the Eagles ran in the first half, they decided to play some man-to-man defense. Shots finally started falling for the Eagles, but the Buffalos always had a response. The Lady Buffalos closed out their first game of the season with a, 67-27 victory over the Eagles. Mondovi had three athletes in double-digit scoring. Senior, Ava Grey, finished with 17 points. Juniors, Maddy Marten recorded 21 points, and junior, Samantha Bennett just made the list with 10 points. The Eagles leading scorer, junior, Finley Noll completed the game with 9 points. The Eagles' next game and start of conference play is on November 28th, in Gilmanton against the Independence/Gilmanton Indees. Article Written by: Tori Creighton

2023 Dairyland Honors Choir was held on Saturday, November 11th at Whitehall High School. The clinician was Dr. Christopher Hathaway, director of Choral Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Artistic Director of The La Crosse Chamber Chorale. It was an amazing opportunity for the nominated students to work with him. Congratulations to Alma's own Nikki Walker for being selected to go and for an outstanding performance!
