This is an amazing event! Alma has been well represented in the past which has provided our staff with some excellent funds to further benefit our students. Please put together a team, get yourself a tee team at the Grove over Labor Day weekend, and of course designate Alma as your school. It is also important to note that you can play multiple days and on multiple teams. Thank you to The Grove and the sponsors for hosting and supporting this event!

Today the rain couldn't stop us from identifying the tress in Goose Lake Park in Cochrane. The students identified the trees and then did a leaf and bark rubbing to create their own tree identification booklet.

The American Legion Auxiliary recently hosted a poster contest for fifth graders. The theme centered around the iconic red poppy, symbolizing remembrance and honoring the sacrifices of veterans. Rilynn Ganz received first place, Allison Johnson in second, and Ashlynn Jahnke in third. It was an exciting opportunity for kids to showcase their creativity while learning about the significance of honoring our veterans.

Congratulations to Lorna Lisowski! She has been selected to perform in the Wisconsin Middle Level Honors Orchestra! Lorna had to prepare and extensive audition consisting of memorized scales, a prepared class A solo, and sight reading. Lorna is one of four oboists in the entre state of Wisconsin selected for this honor. She will attend a workshop in October in Madison and then perform at the Wisconsin State Music Educator's Convention. Lorna, daughter of Patrick and Amp Lisowski, is an eighth grade oboe student who performs in the Alma High School Band. Her private instructor is Kris Krause of Fountain City. This is a tremendous honor and accomplishment for Lorna and we are all so proud of her. Best of luck in October!

Rivermen Clubhouse kicked off summer care with a space theme! Students participated in many fun space-themed activities throughout the week. Here are just a few pictures of some of the fun.

Summer school in Ms. Ruff's room.....the pictures say it all!
The Alma School District completed Week 1 of the summer school session today. It was a GREAT week! The students have completed swimming lessons, participated in STEM challenges and engaged in outdoor environmental education sessions in Goose Lake Park (in between swimming lessons.) Mr. Stewart joined a little of the recess fun today to connect with future Eagles while the usual classroom teacher/recess supervisor met with a CESA 4 facilitator for summer professional development. Thank you to the teachers and leaders who make this opportunity possible!
