This week's student of the week goes to junior, Amber Meier. Amber is the youngest daughter of Dan and Shannon; she has one sister, Jessica, who also went to Alma. Amber loves how small Alma is and how she knows everyone. During school, Amber’s favorite subject is Math with Mr.Killian, but Mrs. Krzoska is her ultimate favorite teacher since she always has things for the students to complete. Amber participates in volleyball, softball, band, and forensics. After graduation, she plans on attending CVTC to become a dental hygienist. During the summer, Amber works at the school as a janitor where she enjoys talking with all her co-workers. Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Congratulations Amber and keep up the good work.

This week's elementary Student of the Week is Raymond Bowler. Raymond has two cats, Spooky and Olive, and is the youngest son of Sara and Martin. In school, he plays football, basketball, and baseball. Meanwhile outside of school, he plays catch with his brother, John, and plays video games, specifically Fortnite. Ray's favorite subject is science because he loves doing “fun projects.” Even though he loves doing his projects, he can make time for his favorite lunch, The Eagle Burger. Congratulations Raymond Bowler!

Congratulations to this week's Football Mania winner!

The 5th and 6th graders have been working with Nurse Katie on a germ experiment! First we reviewed proper handwashing, then we put on our scientist hats to run an experiment and see if handwashing actually makes a difference! We tested clean hands and dirty hands- it is pretty clear to us that clean hands carry the least amount of germs! Handwashing matters!

On December 7th, the Pepin-Alma Dance Team took both their Pom and Kick routines the the Menomonie Holiday Classic Dance Competition. One of the dancers, Michaela Gold, took her solo to the competition as well. The dancers did an amazing job; they placed first in their Kick routine and fourth in their Pom routine! Michaela also did a fantastic job, placing fifth out of 17 with her solo! Congratulations Pepin-Alma Dance Team!

This week’s Student of the Week is fourth grader Jade Keeler! Jade is the daughter of Adam and Whitley Keeler and has two siblings, Zachary and Henry. Her family also includes two dogs. During recess, Jade has a blast playing football and basketball with her friends. In the classroom, Jade loves to learn and have fun with her teachers, Mrs. Danziger and Mrs. Mel. She especially enjoys the days when high school students join her class for Eagles and Eaglets. When asked if she likes attending school at Alma, Jade replied, “Heck yeah!” She added that Alma is a “great place with lots of nice people and nice things.” Jade dreams of becoming a police officer when she grows up, so she can “catch all of the bad guys.” Congratulations, Jade, on being this week’s Student of the Week!

Alma High School’s student of the week is Sophomore Anders Johansen. At school, Anders’s favorite class is Wildlife Management which is taught by his favorite teacher, Ms. J. She has taught Anders many things about the outdoors as well as how to be a better person. Outside of school, Anders plays his favorite sport, football, where he plays as the cornerback and the quarterback. Besides school and sports, Anders enjoys spending his free time hunting. Congrats Anders on being this week’s Student of the Week!
