Last Friday, during Homecoming, Alma Area Schools kicked off their morning with the beloved Eagles/Eaglets event. All students were invited to share donuts with their partners, creating a fun and welcoming start to the day. The program has been a tradition for over five years, bringing students from different grade levels together in a positive and meaningful way. Older students, known as the “Eagles,” are paired with younger elementary students, the “Eaglets,” and the connections they form help build school spirit across all ages. A special thank you goes out to the Student Council for providing the donuts that made the morning extra sweet.
After enjoying breakfast, the pairs spent time reading together, talking, and simply hanging out. The event is not only a chance for younger students to bond with older role models, but also an opportunity for older students to take on leadership roles and give back to their school community. Activities like Eagles/Eaglets highlight the importance of mentorship, kindness, and togetherness, which make Homecoming week even more special for Alma schools.

Congratulations to this week's Elementary Student of the Week, Trent Wick! Trent is the son of Mindy and Tom and the brother of Mackenzie, Madalyn, Trevor, and Molly. Outside of school, Trent enjoys playing football and staying active. His favorite subject is Phy. Ed because he loves having fun with his friends while being on the move. Trent’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Baab, who is very kind and caring, in Trent’s words. When it comes to favorites, he loves cows and loves the school’s pizza when it comes to lunch time. Keep up the great work, Trent!

This week, the Alma/Pepin Eagles are not only hosting exciting volleyball action on Thursday and Friday night football, but also two very special events that bring our communities together.
At both games, we’ll be holding raffles in support of Caiden Haake—a proud Pepin graduate, Eagle athletic legend, and an incredible young man who is currently facing the difficult battle of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. All proceeds will go directly toward Caiden’s medical expenses and financial needs, with any additional funds donated to cancer research.
In addition to a 50/50 raffle, you’ll have the chance to win some amazing prizes—with tickets only $5 each! Just a few highlights include:
• Golf Packages from The Grove & Coffee Mill Golf Courses
• A Stone Barn Gift Card & Accessories
• Green Bay Packers Tickets & Scheels Gift Card (Schmidtnecht Family)
• Milwaukee Bucks Tickets & Autographed Damian Lillard Shoes (Charlie Raethke)

On Friday night, just before the National Anthem, we will also be dedicating our newly landscaped flag pole area and flag pole in remembrance of Tom Schultz. This special gift to Alma Area Schools comes from Tom’s wife, Aimee, his sons Trevor and Hunter, and their mother, Vicki. A 1980 Alma graduate, Tom’s love for Alma and Buffalo County showed through his tireless volunteer work, his passion for the outdoors, and his commitment to helping others.
We hope you’ll join us this Thursday and Friday—not only to cheer on our athletes, but to celebrate community, honor Tom’s legacy, and rally together in support of Caiden.

This week in STEM was to build a NASA flag.
They had a lot of fun building the tallest flag possible. The biggest challenge was having it not tip over. It was a “balancing” act.

💙We’ll come together to celebrate the game Coach Carl Duley loved most—volleyball, where every point is won through teamwork.

This is the design we’ll carry forward each year in Carl’s honor. The order form is linked below, and it will reopen annually for anyone who needs a new shirt. A limited number will also be available the night of the game.

💙❤️Let’s fill the stands, cheer as one, and honor Carl’s love for teamwork—while raising money for the ALS Association.
