The final student of the week is preschool student, Clayton Kurtzweg. Clayton is the son of Alexander Kurtzweg and Kaytlin Bacinett; he has two siblings, Sydney and Lilly. At home, Clayton loves to play with his dog, Dodge, and he loves to watch his favorite TV show, Power Rangers, especially his favorite character, the blue, pink, and red one. At school, Clayton enjoys learning about ABC patterns with Miss Hannah, his favorite high school helper. His imagination goes far; Clayton was asked if he could have any type of pet, what would it be, and he responded with, “a giant dog that can talk and has powers.” At lunch, Clayton hopes it is his favorite meal, pepperoni pizza. Clayton already knows what he wants to do after school; he is going to be a store seller. Congratulations, Clayton, and great work throughout the school year!

The students enjoyed donuts for breakfast, which were made by the student council. After that, the students got to play outside before continuing with the rest of their school day.

This summer, the school is undergoing multiple renovations, including a brand new Family Consumer Education kitchen, a fabrication lab, and various new floors. The students have been able to help demo the old kitchen since the renovations are starting early in the summer. We can't wait to see the new editions to Alma High School.

The seventh and eighth grade classes had the opportunity to tour the Lock and Dam. Some students even had the chance to operate locking boats in and raising and lowering the dam. The classes also watched a barge pass through the dam. They learned various comparisons of how much a barge can carry compared to trains or semi-trucks. This was an amazing opportunity and a great learning experience for the students.
